Why I choose St. Andrews for my children by Lianne Donaldson
School Values- I was concerned that because we weren’t from a catholic background, would St Andrews be suitable for us? But the answer is a big YES. My older son started in 2019 & I have learnt that the school is full of different faiths & non faiths. The values that are taught through the school are the foundation & making of our children growing up to be respectful, caring, loving, kind & everything that is important for their well being & future.
Outdoor learning- My daughter is currently at nursery & loves the Forrest kindergarten, moving her onto St Andrews will give her that continuation of doing something that she loves. St. Andrews are passionate about outdoor learning & have recently been awarded as the first school in Scotland a gold award for outdoor learning. It has been proven children have more fun & learn better in an outdoor setting.
High attainment- This is also a very important quality for the school to have. I have learnt the school are very focused on this but also equally they strive to give all the children a fun, supportive & great experience at the school, giving the children memory’s & skills that they will carry for the rest of their life’s.

Community- St Andrews is a lovely small school & I love the community feel. The head teacher & all staff welcome the children in to the school by name as they all know who each individual pupil is. I think it’s lovely how involved the Head teacher is. The head teacher Mrs Favier & all the other staff connect personally with the children & have such a lovely supportive relationship. I have recently joined the parent council to help contribute towards the support network available for new families/existing & to help with all the amazing activities & experiences they provide for the children/families. The support from both the parent council & school is amazing.
So overall, we can not recommend St. Andrews enough. Nurture, Inspire, Flourish
