Big news! We have been awarded the Gold Mark from the Council for Learning Outside the Classroom. The LOtC Mark (Gold) recognises exemplary LOtC provision in schools and indicates that our school is a leader in ensuring that all pupils have access to frequent, continuous and progressive learning outside the classroom to support their learning and achievement. We are the first school in Scotland to hold this award which makes it extra special and exciting. Check out our press release here.
We are committed to enabling every learner at St Andrew’s to gain the knowledge, skills and attributes needed for life in the 21st century. We enact this vision through our lived values nurture inspire flourish, by celebrating each achievement and through our mission to develop as a community of faith and love.
Through learning both within and beyond the classroom we aim to develop:
- successful learners
- confident individuals

Excellent learning and teaching underpins everything we do and this is perhaps most evident in our commitment to regular, planned and progressive opportunities to learn beyond the classroom (sometimes described as place-based learning, outdoor learning or ‘real’ learning). We are committed to nurturing core ecological values; we promote impactful environmental actions that shape how our staff and pupils care for our common home. This is demonstrated through authentic participation as our learners engage in practices and dialogue that create positive outcomes and meaningful change.

Our wide catchment area ensures we have a vibrant community. We are committed to understanding and celebrating diversity in all its forms and work to ensure equality and inclusion within our school and beyond.
